The segregated cycle lanes in Catharine Street are now finished and ready for use.
Unfortunately MCC was not consulted on the final design of the scheme and the three bus stops on the street have been constructed in a very poor way.
The cycle lane is reduced to one metre as it passes the bus stop, going between the shelter and the bus boarding area. There is no tactile paving for the visually impaired to alert them to the presence of the cycle lane. The design will cause conflict between cyclists and pedestrians.
The diagram below shows how the bus stop should have been designed.
