The recycling social enterprise was set up nearly five years ago when a bike mechanic and a ride co-ordinator got their heads together and recognised a need for recycling. Since then MerseyCycle has grown from strength to strength with their ability to recover and refurbish unwanted bicycles. Volunteer lead, the proceeds from the sales of these bicycles go back into the project to maintain the running costs. Monthly sales are held at their base at Court Hey Park with bikes of all shapes and sizes from child’s balance bikes through to mountain bikes and classic road bikes. When funding permits, they also run recycling courses teaching people mechanical skills.
