Sustrans has just published its Bike Life survey. It shows that there is a significant appetite for cycling in the Liverpool City Region as well as the demand for more and better cycle routes.
69% of residents support the creation of safe, separated cycling routes to encourage more people to ride bikes more often, particularly for shorter journeys. Two thirds of all journeys taken in the Liverpool City Region are less than three miles, but right now, around 50% of these are still taken by car.
The survey is representative of all Liverpool City Region residents, not just those who cycle.

Better late than never: Apologies that the last Edition of the PedalPress has only been added to our archive now, after the paper copy went out months ago. But here it is, in the PedalPress Section, or as a direct link: https://www.merseycycle.org.uk/pedal_press/ppsummer2014.pdf
Some very interesting figures but no idea of when or where any new cycle routes are going to be built, no maps to show existing routes or new routes either.
Nothing from the metro mayor about fixing all the potholes, poor signage, dangerous driving, or lack of bike lane parking enforcement, all major bug bears of us cyclists.
Instead we get a mess on Princess Road Toxteth that nobody wanted, at a huge cost, we should have a dedicated cycle lane down both sides and not on the central reservation, with many crossing points.
